Job Description:
The Electrical Lab Technician is responsible for providing technical support within the engineering laboratory. This role involves a wide range of tasks, including setting up and maintaining test equipment, conducting basic electrical tests, assisting engineers with experiments, and ensuring a safe and organized lab environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lab Preparation and Maintenance:
Set up and configure electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, function generators, etc.
Calibrate and maintain lab equipment according to established procedures and schedules.
Ensure the lab is clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
Perform routine safety checks and inspections of lab equipment and work areas.
Test Procedures and Execution:
Assist engineers in the design and execution of electrical tests and experiments.
Conduct basic electrical measurements and tests, such as voltage, current, resistance, and continuity.
Record and document test data accurately and efficiently.
Troubleshoot basic electrical problems and identify potential issues.
Equipment and Component Handling:
Properly handle and store electronic components, including delicate and sensitive devices.
Assemble and disassemble electronic circuits and prototypes as directed.
Build and modify test fixtures and jigs as needed.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures in the lab environment.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Report any safety hazards or concerns to the supervisor immediately.
Other Duties as Assigned:
Assist with the development and maintenance of lab procedures and documentation.
Participate in training and professional development activities.
Contribute to the overall improvement of lab efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
Experience: 1-3 years of experience as an Electrical Lab Technician or in a related field.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of basic electrical principles and circuits.
Proficiency in using common electrical test equipment.
Experience with soldering and basic electronics assembly.
Knowledge of relevant safety standards and practices.
Other Skills:
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to learn new techniques and technologies quickly.
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy equipment.
Ability to perform repetitive motions.
Ability to work with small parts and tools.
Work Environment:
Primarily works in a laboratory environment.
May be exposed to moderate noise levels.
May be required to work occasional overtime.
