Senior Mechanical Engineer - Product Department

Ohmiq Inc is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic Product team. As a key member of the department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and components for our innovative products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the mechanical design process from concept to production

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product requirements are met

  • Conduct analysis and testing to validate design choices

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing, prototyping, testing, and integrating mechanical/electromechanical designs from component level to system level.

  • Maintaining mechanical designs and drawings

  • Designing experiments and tests to validate concepts.

  • Designing and building test rigs, including LABVIEW test programs and scripts.

  • Selection of manufacturing process for fabricated parts, including metal, plastics, composites.

  • Designing and developing manufacturing processes for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.

  • Communicating engineering project status Evaluating the final product’s overall performance, reliability, and safety

  • Maintaining compliance with applicable government regulations

Job Requirements for Senior Mechanical Engineer at Ohmiq Inc

To be considered for the Senior Mechanical Engineer (2) role in the Product department at Ohmiq Inc, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • BS degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering and 10+ years’ experience.

  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)

  • Proficiency with SolidWorks solid modeling and drawings.  

  • Proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, drawings, and various international standards including ANSI, ASME, and ISO.

  • Experience with analysis, including:

    • heat transfer,

    • thermodynamics,

    • fluid mechanics, and

    • stress analysis

  • Experience with analytic tools, including FEA and CFD.

  • Experience with a variety of fabrication processes for both prototyping and series production, including:

    • additive manufacturing,

    • injection molding,

    • machining (mill/lathe/grind),

    • laser/waterjet,

    • welding, and

    • composites

  • Experience in taking a design from prototype through a Design for Manufacturing (DFM) process to reduce part count and cost- a PLUS.

  • Excellent organizational skills, drive, determination, grit, a positive attitude with an open mind to continuously learn and thrive with a highly varied workload, and the focus to meet objectives.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
